JOHN HERRING, Associate Pastor/Minister of Music
Eupora residents will remember Herring from his previous work as Youth Director/Music Minister at First Baptist Church of Eupora in the late 80s and early 90s. After a brief time of working as a building contractor and volunteering with the sound board at his church in Bush, La., Herring returned to FBC Eupora in October 2014 as the Minister of Music and Associate Pastor. Herring attended Hinds Community College then went on to Mississippi College where he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in Religion with an emphasis in Bible and a minor in music. He attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he graduated with a master’s of Religious Education with a Youth Specialty and minor in music.
Cody Robertson is the Minister of Youth & Activities for FBC Eupora. He began in September 2016, and is having an exciting time getting to know the students and young adults in the community. Cody holds a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and he is currently attending New Orleans Baptist Seminary. We are looking forward to the plans he has in store for youth at FBC Eupora.
CHARLA BOATMAN, Children’s Minister
Long-time church member and children’s volunteer, Charla Smith Boatman, serves as the part-time Children’s Director. Since 2003, Boatman has led FBC Eupora’s Children’s Bible Drills and continues to share that passion on Wednesday nights. She is currently leading G-Force on Sunday mornings, a special worship experience for children in grades K-6 at 11 a.m. Sunday mornings that teaches them to walk out their faith with compassion for those in their community and around the world. At FBC Eupora, preschoolers and elementary children will experience a variety of teaching, music and activities all designed to build character and point them toward a closer walk with God.
